SAMSUNG NOTE 7 BATTERY: 35 CASES OF BATTERY EXPLOSION
Samsung launched the Note 7 edition of their Note Series smartphone last month and early reports indicates 35 cases of battery explosion out of over 2 million Note 7 shipped out by the Korean company.
Reports shows that the devices explodes while charging as a result of overheating or any other cause that is yet to be discovered as Samsung investigates into the situation. Phones sold in China are said to be not at risk of the occurrence as a different contractor was responsible for batteries used in Note 7s distributed in China.
The sale of Note 7 in various stores around the world has been halted in a bid to prevent such incident of explosions again.
SAMSUNG NOTE 7 RECALL: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Samsung has initiated a recall program thereby recalling all 2 million copies of Note 7 shipped out so far. As well as advising customers to "hand in their Note 7 for replacement with a Galaxy S7 and accessories or full refund as well as $25 compensation"
If you are willing to hand in your Note 7 for a replacements with an S7, you are to head straight to your retail store for the replacement or a full refund.
STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF NOTE 7 BATTERY PROBLEM
So far, 35 cases of Note 7 battery explosion have been reported. That is 1 in 40,000 phones out of over 2 million phones shipped out by Samsung. Its in your best interest to do a charging cycle with the device and check if it is unnecessary "warm". If the device is warm in any way while charging, its best you hand it in for replacement but if the device feels okay, I wouldn't go through the hassle.
